SARAH MARKSTEINER

I'm an NYC-based performer and playwright, and developing new work is where my heart is.

I'm an improviser and sketch comedian you can find around stages in New York City, at at festivals across the country and dare I say... internationally. I've trained at Second City NY, the Magnet Theater, and Washington Improv Theater. I'm a founding member of Magent house sketch team Ghost Girl - which has toured to festivals in Austin, Montreal, San Francisco, DC, and Philadelphia. Improv projects include Behemoth - which recently performed at Dublin Improv Fest, and The Lab - a science and improv mashup I coproduce. 

My writing can be matched in absurdity - sometimes. I like to draw inspiration from untold histories and embrace mythic scale - and to find the humor in darkness. These days, I'm a librettist in the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop.
